Payeena is a transaction coordination and escrow facilitation platform operated by OLYTH TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED.

We help users complete safer peer-to-peer transactions through structured deal workflows and third-party payment integrations.

We collect the following types of information:

2.1 Personal Information (Account Setup) — When you register, we collect your full name (verified through NIN system), email address, phone number (if provided), date of birth (from verification), and National Identification Number (NIN) for verification purposes.

2.2 Identity Verification Data — To prevent fraud and ensure trust, we use third-party verification providers to verify your identity. We may verify your NIN through approved third-party services, retrieve identity confirmation results, and validate name and date of birth. We do NOT publicly display your NIN. We store a securely encrypted, non-reversible representation of your NIN, verification status, and associated identity metadata to prevent duplicate accounts and fraud.

2.3 Transaction Data — We collect information related to transactions such as transaction amount, item/service description, delivery deadlines, buyer/seller activity, transaction status updates, dispute records, and evidence uploaded (images, files, messages).

2.4 Payment Information — Payments are processed by licensed third-party payment providers such as Paystack and Flutterwave. We do NOT store full card or bank details. We may receive payment status confirmation, transaction reference IDs, and payout status information.

2.5 Usage Data — We collect device information, IP address, browser type, platform activity logs, login timestamps, and transaction activity history.

We use your data to create and manage your account, verify your identity (NIN verification), prevent fraud and duplicate accounts, facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers, manage payment and delivery workflows, handle disputes and investigations, send notifications and updates, improve platform security and performance, and comply with legal obligations.

We process your data based on your consent, performance of a contract (using the platform), legal obligations (fraud prevention, compliance), and legitimate business interests (security and platform integrity).

We may share your data with the following parties:

5.1 Third-Party Payment Providers — To process transactions and payouts.

5.2 Identity Verification Providers — To verify your NIN and prevent fraud.

5.3 Legal Authorities — If required by law, court order, or regulatory request.

5.4 Internal Team — Only authorized staff for dispute resolution, fraud monitoring, or support.

We do NOT sell your personal data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, required to fulfill transactions, required for legal and regulatory compliance, or necessary for fraud prevention and dispute history.

After account deletion requests, we may retain limited data where legally required.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of sensitive identity data (including NIN hash storage), secure API communication, access control restrictions, audit logs for sensitive actions, and monitoring for suspicious activity.

However, no system is 100% secure.

You have the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account (subject to legal obligations), and request information about how your data is used.

We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, improve user experience, analyze platform usage, and detect fraud and suspicious behavior.

Payeena is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Your data may be processed or stored in locations outside your country where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on the platform, and continued use of Payeena means acceptance of the updated policy.
