Payeena is a secure transaction facilitation platform operated by OLYTH TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED.

We help users complete safer peer-to-peer transactions through structured deal workflows and third-party payment integrations.

We collect the following types of information:

2.1 Personal Information (Account Setup): When you register, we collect your full name (verified through NIN system), email address, phone number (if provided), date of birth (from verification), and National Identification Number (NIN) for verification purposes.

2.2 Identity Verification Data: To verify your identity, prevent fraud, and maintain platform security, Payeena uses third-party identity verification providers. During registration, you are required to provide your National Identification Number (NIN) and capture a photograph of your face using your device's camera. The captured facial image is securely transmitted to the verification provider for identity verification, including facial matching against the applicable identity records. Payeena receives and processes the relevant verification results, which may include verification status, identity confirmation information, and associated verification metadata. Payeena uses this information to determine whether your identity verification has been completed successfully. You cannot access your Payeena account until the required identity verification has been completed.

2.3 Transaction Data: We collect information related to transactions such as transaction amount, item/service description, delivery deadlines, buyer/seller activity, transaction status updates, dispute records, and evidence uploaded (images, files, messages).

2.4 Payment and Bank Account Information: Payments on Payeena are processed through integrated third-party payment service providers. Payeena does not store customers' full payment card numbers, card security codes (CVV), or card authentication credentials. To facilitate seller payouts and eligible buyer refunds, Payeena collects and stores users' bank names and bank account numbers. Bank account details are used for account verification, transaction-related payouts, refunds, and other authorized payment operations. Payeena may also receive and retain payment references, transaction statuses, payment confirmation records, refund records, and payout statuses from its payment providers. Access to stored banking information is restricted to authorized systems and personnel where necessary for legitimate platform operations.

2.5 Usage Data: We collect device information, IP address, browser type, platform activity logs, login timestamps, and transaction activity history.

We use your data to create and manage your account, verify your identity (NIN verification), prevent fraud and duplicate accounts, facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers, manage payment and delivery workflows, handle disputes and investigations, send notifications and updates, improve platform security and performance, and comply with legal obligations.

We process your data based on your consent, performance of a contract (using the platform), legal obligations (fraud prevention, compliance), and legitimate business interests (security and platform integrity).

We may share your data with the following parties:

5.1 Third-Party Payment Providers: To process transactions and payouts.

5.2 Identity Verification Providers: We share the identity information and facial photographs necessary for verification with authorized third-party identity verification providers. These providers process the information to verify your identity, perform facial matching, and return verification results to Payeena.

5.3 Legal Authorities: If required by law, court order, or regulatory request.

5.4 Internal Team: Only authorized staff for dispute resolution, fraud monitoring, or support.

Payeena does not permanently store the facial photograph captured during verification. The photograph is transmitted to our identity verification provider for processing. Verification records and results may be retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We do NOT sell your personal data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, required to fulfill transactions, required for legal and regulatory compliance, or necessary for fraud prevention and dispute history.

After account deletion requests, we may retain limited data where legally required.

Bank account information and identity verification records are treated as sensitive personal information. Payeena applies access controls and appropriate security measures to protect this information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of sensitive identity data (including NIN hash storage), secure API communication, access control restrictions, audit logs for sensitive actions, and monitoring for suspicious activity.

However, no system is 100% secure.

You have the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account (subject to legal obligations), and request information about how your data is used.

We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, improve user experience, analyze platform usage, and detect fraud and suspicious behavior.

Payeena is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Your data may be processed or stored in locations outside your country where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on the platform, and continued use of Payeena means acceptance of the updated policy.
